In China for Christmas offer apples!

I took a few photos of Christmas in China.

My students offered me some apples.
In China, you offer apple on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve is called in Chinese Ping An Ye, which means silent night.
And in Chinese apple is said Ping Guo. It has a similar pronounciation.

I once told you that pronounciation, the phonetic meaning matters a lot for Chinese people. Many Chinese jokes and believes are based on phonetic meaning.

Students organizent party for New year and Christmas Eve.

A Chinese Christmas cake in some restaurant... bread with strawberry ice cream...

One more apple!

Another student party.
